FTA’s receives new Mechtronix Ascent XJ Trainer.
Monday, January 30, 2012
FTA was delighted this week to receive its new Mechtronix generic device based on the B737-800NG. The Ascent XJ Trainer is the first of two new flight training devices ordered by FTA in 2011. The second training device, the Mechtronix FFTX-MPL A320 will be delivered in the last quarter of 2012.
The next few weeks will see the full installation, on site acceptance, and certification of the XJ trainer taking place, with the first courses starting their training in this new device in March 2012.
On arrival of the simulator, Pine Pienaar, FTA’s CEO, commented “This device is the first tangible evidence of FTA’s multi facetted strategic acquisition and upgrade program to bolster its capability and capacity to service conventional pilot training programs, hybrid MPL-conventional training programs and stand alone MPL training programs. Our intent is clear and transparent. We aim to provide world’s best-practice training solutions to the world’s leading airlines, on state of the art equipment, operated by a highly professional and dedicated training work force. We are extremely excited about our vision that is now turning into reality and look forward to sharing the next instalment of our strategic improvement as it unfolds.”
