FTA becomes VET FEE-HELP Approved
Friday, August 19, 2011
Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) has become the first major Flight Training Organisation (FTO) to become an approved VET FEE-HELP provider.
This is a very significant achievement as it may remove the financial barrier to those Australians who wish to pursue a career in aviation, but don’t have the funds to pursue the training.
The Diploma in Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) program differs from existing university aviation degree programs in that FTA is the holder of the VET FEE-HELP approval and not the university.
Students who complete the Diploma in Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) will receive 24 credits towards a Bachelor Degree in Commerce at the University of Adelaide. The completion of this degree is optional.
This initiative creates three very significant advantages over existing university programs.
a) The full $86,422 loan can be used towards the Diploma in Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) course. In effect the full training course fee is covered by the loan
b) The Diploma in Aviation course duration is 40 weeks. This allows the student the choice to enter the workforce 2 years sooner than students attending the university course available from other institutions.
c) Should the student wish to complete a degree, he/she can do so and will have gained 24 credits towards a Bachelors Degree in Commerce at the University of Adelaide.
FTA is planning to start VET FEE-HELP approved courses in November 2011 and January 2012. For further information on FTA’s VET FEE-HELP program, please visit http://www.flighttrainingadelaide.com/vet/vet-fee-help/ or contact Jean Mills on (08) 8209 4300.
