FTA instructors start their training with Cathay Pacific Airways (CPA)
Tuesday, October 19, 2010

The first course of seven FTA ex- flight instructors started the Cathay Pacific Transition Training Course on 9 August 2010.  They should be completed on 5 November 2010, at which stage they will join the airline as second officers.

Pine Pienaar, FTA's CEO commented: " We are honoured to have a number of programs in place with CPA; some of which give our flight instructors the incredible opportunity to transition from a career as an instructor with FTA, to a career as an airline pilot with what is undoubtedly one of the leading airlines in the world.

Being able to facilitate a process whereby our training personnel are secured an interview process with CPA is a testament to the great relationship FTA has with the airline.  It must however be mentioned that being a flying instructor at FTA is by no means a guarantee of employment with CPA and that the instructors are employed because they meet the CPA entry requirements.  This transition program further cement the trust both companies have in each other and it also shows our younger instructors that FTA will always reward hard work and loyalty by facilitating this process with CPA.

It must be highlighted that none of this would be possible without the collaboration of Cathay Pacific Airways, and we are grateful for their trust in FTA and for the opportunity they are giving our instructors to become part of their pilot work force"
