Training Programs
FTA offers a wide range of training programs. All programs are discussed with the customer to ensure that the customer’s training needs are fully met, as well as ensure that regulatory requirements are complied with.
FTA is fortunate of its geographical location as it has close and easy access to water, mountains and city creating the perfect environment for specialise training such as maritime operations, mountainous terrain flying and flying in built up areas.
All training programs are fully delivered at FTA, with the exception of some modules of the selection program that can be delivered at the helicopter institutions HQ.

Selection Program
FTA’s selection program is based on two tiers.
Tier 1 selection element assesses the cadet’s academic suitability. In particular FTA will target the cadet’s academic competence in three areas, English and spatial reasoning.
FTA conducts a series of reading, listening and comprehension assessments to ascertain the cadet’s level of English.
Tier 2 element determines the cadet’s hand to eye coordination and spatial awareness levels. This test is computer based and is delivered by senior FTA instructors.
