| Saturday the 20th of June saw the graduation of the Cathay Pacific Long Course 1 cadets. This is the second course to graduate under the scholarship put in place by Cathay Pacific Airways and FTA. Under this scheme, upon completion the training course, the cadets complete an instructor’s course with FTA and stay at FTA for 3 and half years as instructors before joining the Airline. At the graduation, Pine Pienaar FTA’s CEO said “This is a really exciting time for Cathay Pacific and FTA. CXL1 is the second course to graduate under this great scheme and I very much look forward to seeing these cadets develop their instructional skills over the next three years with us at FTA. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Cathay Pacific who have in good faith have embarked on this journey with FTA. There is no doubt in my mind that the scholarship program will be the antidote that will protect FTA and CPA from the impending industry upturn that will see airlines hiring large numbers of QFI’s from the flight training organisations again. |
