Crew Resource Management
Training in Human Factors and Crew Resource Management has become essential to the professional pilot. A typical approved course consists of two days’ ground school covering a number of subjects, including Physiological Limitations and Flight Deck Management.
Partnership CRM Seminars
Customer airlines are often invited to provide CRM seminars at the College. These prove most popular with both staff and students and provide excellent opportunities for professional development as well as enhancing the culture of Flight Safety.
Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT) Training
A generic 737 jet Flight Training Device is used at Flight Training Adelaide to bridge the gap between operating light twin piston aircraft and modern jet airliners. Several levels of LOFT training are available with exposure to both Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) and a Flight Management System (FMS).
Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT) Training can be provided to meet the regulatory requirements of many civil aviation authorities.
Multi Crew Cooperation is introduced and customer airline operating systems can be included at this level of training.
Jet Orientation Courses (JOC)
The College offers a number of JOC training programs designed to fulfil differing training aims. The programs can vary from a co-pilot endorsement of around 5 hours to a more extensive 15-30 hour handling program.
Flight Training Adelaide works with our client airlines to tailor a program to the specific needs of that airline including the use of the airline’s calls and procedures.
In the past the College has used a C500 Cessna Citation for advanced handling training for Cathay Pacific Airlines - a course developed to meet the needs of second officer upgrade training for that airline. More recently The College has used a Lear 45 to provide command skills training for Cathay Pacific First Officers as part of their Command Upgrade.
Qantas have also used the Citation for Airborne Line Oriented Flight Training (ALOFT) - training geared toward developing the skills of multi-crew operations in a jet powered aircraft.
Other aircraft used in similar roles are the Beech 400 jet and Beech 200 King Air turboprop.
