| The first 4 of 7 Diamond DA 42 “Twin Star” aircraft has arrived safely at FTA.
The aircraft touched down at Parafield Airport at 3:00pm on Thursday 16th February 2007 after a 13-day ferry from the Diamond factory in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.
The crew of Vincent Chong and Ken Heckendorf, from FTA, along with Peter Tippett and Dave Baddams, 2 contract pilots, though exhausted were very pleased with their trip and with the performance of the planes.
The ferry team of David Arthur and Michael Smart, from FTA, along with Peter Tippet will leave Adelaide on the 25th of March to collect the second batch of 3 aircraft due to arrive in Adelaide on the 13th April.
FTA is now in the process of bedding in the aircraft and training staff with a view to the first ab initio courses training on the Diamond fleet from mid June. |
