FTA Signs up for DA42

Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) today signed contracts to purchase seven (7) Diamond DA42 “Twin Star” aircraft & two (2) Diamond Simulation DA42 simulators. The DA42 is the next-generation of training aircraft and features composite construction, enhanced diesel engines using half the fuel of conventional piston engines and an advanced Garmin G1000 avionics suite similar to that used by our graduates when they take up positions on new generation passenger aircraft at their airlines.

The two DA42 simulators are scheduled for delivery to FTA in early December 2006 with installation and certification to be completed by the end of January 2007.

The seven DA42 aircraft will be delivered to FTA in two batches (Batch One of 3 aircraft and Batch Two of 4 aircraft). Batch One is due to depart Austria mid-February 2007 and arrive at FTA early March 2007 with Batch Two departing Austria late March 2007 to arrive at FTA early April 2007.
